TAKING THE MICHELANGELO

a memoir of recovery and healing

- poems by Karim Harvey -

'Taking the Michelangelo' is a poetry book of delight that heeds the decline of moral ambition, isolation and creative inclusion. Addressing mental health, transgender, and dual heritage issues, Karim Harvey provides a vital voice to a world that under-represents the complexity of human experience.

As he says in the title, this book is a memoir of healing and recovery.  It is also about not letting them grind you down.  There is much to learn from in this book.  As these poems show, Karim’s life has been a tough one. There has been much to struggle through.  However, he is not a victim, but a survivor with a story to tell, and with much experience to share.
